A Street quarrel
A Street quarrel are very common in India. Their causes are always simple, but the results are serious." It was Sunday. I was reading the morning paper. Young boys were playing cricket in the street One of the boys hit the ball which went up in the air. It fell down into a milk pot in a house. The house woman was watching it. Her blood was up. She came out running, cursing and abusing the boys. The boys ran of to hide themselves. The lady caught hold of one. She began to beat him . He was innocent. He raised a hue and cry. His mother came up and she caught the woman by the hair. There was a great noise. The boy was weeping bitterly. His mother was abusing the woman. There was a big crowd. None knew what the matter was. For sometime I watched the happening. I told the real facts to the other women standing there as i had seen them with my eyes. But the lady was not satisfied . She began to abuse me to. But soon an old and sensible lady appeared on the scence. she drew the women apart and pacified the quarrelling women.
