Deepawali
India is a land of fairs and festivals. These are celebrated with great pomp and show. The diwali is an important indian festivals . It is celebrated in the memory of Lord Rama's return to ayodhya after fourteen years of exile It normally comes off in the month of october every year.Diwali literally means a row of lamps. So this is also known as "Festival of light".Preparations are made many days before the festival.people get their houses white washed.On the diwali day there is hustle and bustle in the bazaar. People buy sweets,toys,fruits etc.They are seen in their best clothes.Gifts and greetings are exchanged. At night,house tops,shops,and temples are illuminated.fire works are exploded.People worship lakshmi ,the goddess of wealth. Many people gamble on the eve of diwali.It is indeed a bas custom and should be discarded.
