Corruption
It was hoped that, after independence, we should have a clean society, free from all evils. But unfortunately, our society has become so corrupt that today there is no area left where there is no corruption. You cannot get anything done in any office until you bribe the dealing hand. The police is corrupt. Even some of the teachers have become corrupt. They take money from the students to allow them to copy in the examination. This corruption is eating into the roots of the country. Bridges are made. Crores are spent on them. But because both the contractors and the officials are corrupt, the right material is not used for their construction. And they collapse soon after their completion. Those who have amassed wealth through corrupt methods are held in esteem in society. And those who are honest are called fools. If this state of affairs continuous, the future of our country is indeed very dark. Effective steps should be taken to check this corruption. There should be a code of conduct for the ministers first. It is very who encourage corruption. But even more important is to teach the young boys and girls the lesson of honesty. If they learn the lesson of honesty at a young age, they will grow up into honest and useful citizens.
