Reading books is a good hobby. Great books are the life blood of civilization. There is nothing like passing time in the company of great books. Books are the light house which show us our way in life. Books are the carriers of knowledge. They help in spreading knowledge from one mind to the other. Without books, there would be no civilization. By reading books we come to know the latest development in science, philosophy, art and literature. Books contain words of wisdom, the best that has ever been thought and said. They are true friends and do not leave us in time of difficultly. They give us comfort in our sorrow. They amuse us in our loneliness. Like true friends, they guide us in our life. They never fail us or desert us. Books are a link between the past and the present. By reading books we can know about the civilization and history of the past times. We know the minds of dead writers through their books. There is no company like the company of books. Thus reading of books gives us a lot of pleasure. But we should read only god books. Bad books do more harm than good. We should be careful in selecting books for reading.
